10.12. RU9 - L-1310acn Probleme mit MacBook Pro 2018

Hallo,

habe hier ein Problem mit unserem 802.11i und einem Macbook Pro 2018 (OSX 10.13.6).
MacBook Pro 2016 (10.13.6), iPhones usw. funktioniert wie seit Jahren ohne Probleme.
Ein paar APs an 2*WLC-4006+ alles 10.12. RU9.

Die EAP Authentifizierung funktioniert (EAP-TLS Authentificated am MacBook).

Gibt es dazu Erfahrungen?

weitere Info, ohne Fast Romaing funktioniert es, ist also wieder einmal ein Problem damit, wir schon beim iPhone 7.
Leider funktionieren ohne Fast Roaming ein paar andere Geräte nicht mehr.

...was ungewöhnlich ist. Umgekehrt, also mit Fast Roaming, ist es klar, dass einige Clients das nicht können.

Dann mach doch einfach zwei verschiedene SSIDs auf, eine mit und eine ohne Fast Roaming.

Moin,

der Client versucht aber schon Fast Roaming zu machen, sonst hätte man keine Version 3 Key Deskriptoren. Die Traces sehen etwas verstümmelt aus, die Dumps der Key-Deskriptoren brechen mittendrin ab und mittendrin scheinen auch einige zu fehlen. Sonst würde der Replay-Zähler nicht von 2 auf 15 springen...

Manchmal haben Clients auch Probleme mit der Kombination Fast Roaming (802.11r) und Protected Management Frames (802.11w).

Womit iOS-Geräte aktuell definitiv Probleme haben, ist WPA3, wenn man das für WPA-PSK auch nur optional dazuschaltet, dann wollen sich iOS-Clients gar nicht mehr verbinden. Wir hatten das schon bei Apple eingekippt aber die sind wohl noch nicht so weit...

wie hast Du den das Key.Management im WLAN-Profil eingestellt?
Bei mir steht es auf "Standard & Fast-Roaming & SHA256", läuft mitllerweile ohne Probleme (MacOS, IOS $ Win).
Wenn ich es fest auf eine Betriebsart gestellt habe, zickte immer eine Client-Version rum.
Gerade beim Re-Connect gab es die interessantesten Effekte, aber jetzt läuft es.

Hallo @All,

ich kann bestätigen, dass Fast-Roaming etc. mit Geräten bis MacBook 2018 gut (mit 10.12.RU9) gut funktioniert.
Leider aber halt das MacBook 2018 nicht. Ich habe hier ca. 10 OSX und IOS Geräte im Netz.
Ich hatte einmal so ein Problem vor ca. 2 Jahren mit einen iPhone7. Das hat dann aber nach einer weiteren LCOS Iteration plötzlich funktioniert.

@Alfred, ich habe am Trace herum editiert, darf ich dir einen kompletten Trace schicken? Gerne auch mit 10.20.RC2.

kannst Du gerne machen, interessant wäre aber aber auch ein Trace mit einem Gerät, wo es mit gleicher AP-Konfiguration funktioniert. Vielleicht sieht man einen Unterschied.
Ich hatte einmal so ein Problem vor ca. 2 Jahren mit einen iPhone7. Das hat dann aber nach einer weiteren LCOS Iteration plötzlich funktioniert.
Das kann das Thema mit gleichzeitiger Nutzung von 11r und 11w gewesen sein.

OK, sind jetzt angekommen. Ich bin die Traces mal durchgegangen und der wesentliche Unterschied ist, daß das 2018er-Macbook die WPA2-Variante mit SHA256 nutzt, das 2016er noch die "klassische" Standard-AKM mit SHA1. SHA256 bedingt eine andere Version der Key-Handshake-Pakete (Version 3 statt Version 2), die das LANCOM auch schickt, aber darauf kommt von dem Client keine Reaktion. Im Log des Clients habe ich noch keine Einträge gefunden, was bei ihm in dem Moment passiert, ich suche aber noch ein wenig. Mit solchen Logs von Apple-Clients habe ich bisher noch keine Erfahrungen.

Hallo Alfred,

vielen Dank, bin auch gerade im Urlaub.
Ich werde bei Apple einmal ein Ticket aufmachen, vermutlich aber erst mit OSX 10.14, in ca. 1-2 Wochen, ggf. ist hier schon etwas gefixt.
Melde mich dann wieder.

Sha-512 im Wlc ausschalten hat schon einmal geholfen.
Melde mich wieder wenn ich etwas von Apple höre.

Hallo,

habe jetzt hier LCOS 10.20 , MacOS 10.4 und IOS 12.01.1 (iPhoneXs).
Sobald SHA-256 aktiviert ist bekommen keiner der o.g. Geräte eine WLAN Verbindung,Standard & Fastroaming tut..
